Qikiqtaaluk Corporation is governed by a Board of Directors which meets at least quarterly to determine corporate direction, strategic investment, policy and monitor the performance of the subsidiaries, joint venture investments and administration. Members of the Board are registered beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement with experience in business and governance.
The Board Members are appointed by the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) for a three year term. The Chairperson of the Board is selected from the Executive Committee of QIA. The other four directors are appointed by the QIA board following an application and screening process. From these directors a Vice Chair is selected.
Administrative support for the Board is provided by the Corporate Secretary’s office.
Legal services are provided by Dubuc Osland of Ottawa with their many years of northern experience. Audit services are provided by KPMG out of Toronto.
