was established in 1983 to manage economic development on behalf of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association. Qikiqtaaluk Corporation is involved in offshore shrimp and turbot fishing, DEW Line site cleanups, environmental management services, helicopter operations, heavy equipment sales and service, petroleum distribution and real estate construction management activities.

Our Mission

Qikiqtaaluk Corporation is a wholly Inuit owned birthright development corporation created by the Baffin Region Inuit Association (now called the Qikiqtani Inuit Association to provide direct opportunities for Inuit in the region and outside. Qikiqtaaluk Corporation aims to become a major contributor to all segments of the Nunavut economy. Balancing tradition with innovation, QC will strive to improve the social and economic well-being of all people in the Baffin region by investing in or creating sound financial opportunities.

Qikiqtaaluk Corporation (QC) is an Inuit birthright development corporation created by the Qikiqtani Inuit Association, the organization representing the Inuit of Baffin Region. QC is mandated to pursue and develop economic development and employment opportunities on behalf of the Inuit in the region. With 70% of its staff of Inuit heritage, QC places a high priority on maximizing training opportunities for Inuit in all of its projects. QC, through dedication, hard work and effective planning has emerged as a Nunavut leader in the field of project management, from feasibility studies to project financing and management. Qikiqtaaluk Corporation has established a number of activities including DEW Line site cleanups, offshore fisheries, and expediting, construction, marine transportation, wholesale fuel sales and distribution, real estate management and helicopter services. QC also conducts joint ventures with other Inuit companies who may not have the resources or size to bid on large projects. QC emphasizes effective financial management and comprehensive Inuit training for projects.
