Tulaktarvik

Tulaktarvik is the a recent Inuit Joint Venture between QC and Ocean Group, to provide specialized marine services for communities and heavy industrial projects.

Qikiqtaaluk Medical Corporation (QMC)

One of QC’s more recent active Joint Ventures, Qikiqtaaluk Medical Corporation offers Medic and Nurses services to industry operating in Nunavut, including First Aid Certification and Wilderness Readiness Certification (survival/emergency equipment usage, helicopter safety, search and rescue, etc.)

QMC provides:

Qikiqtaaluk Employment and Training Consortium (QETC)

Qikiqtani Inuit Association, QC, Kakivak and Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation are collaborating through QETC, in a new joint venture to build Inuit capacity by developing training programs and providing employment opportunities for Inuit in Nunavut. 

Qikiqtaaluk Fisheries Corporation (QF)

Qikiqtaaluk Fisheries Corporation is a joint venture with Nataaqnaq Fisheries. The purpose is to own fishing trawlers and fish for turbot and shrimp. QC owns 51% of the vessel called “Saputi”, which fishes the licenses long held by QC issued by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for shrimp and turbot. The Saputi crew employs up to 50 people, out of which 15 are Inuit.

Frobuild (2006) Ltd.

This joint venture with Nunasi Corporation provides a lumber and hardware store in Iqaluit. Frobuild provides contractors and the public with all the necessary tools and materials to get the job done. It responds to tenders across Nunavut for construction materials.

As a Tim-Br Mart vendor, Frobuild can offer access to thousands of products, including top brands in hundreds of categories, at prices that a single independent dealer could never negotiate.

Toromont Arctic

Joint Venture with Sakku Investment Corporation, Kitikmeot Corporation and Toromont, to sell, rent and provide customer support services for new and used Caterpillar equipment and parts.

Canadian Helicopters Ltd.

QC's Partnership with Canadian Helicopters Ltd., the largest helicopter operator in Canada, provides transportation services in the Qikiqtani region.

Canadian Helicopters is a key partner in mining operations and other industrial projects requiring logistical support for airlifting structural elements and equipment on industrial worksites.

Larga Baffin (Boarding Home)

Larga Baffin provides boarding room and transportation for Nunavut patients to Ottawa, Ontario. Larga Baffin is a joint venture between Larga Services Corporation and Qikiqtaaluk Corporation.

Nunavut Petroleum Corporation

This company is a joint venture with Nunasi Corporation. It was established to supply and delivery of refined petroleum products in and around Iqaluit.

Uqsuq Corporation

Uqsuq Corporation is a joint venture between Nunavut Petroleum Corporation and Frontec Service Limited. Uqsuq was formed for the purpose of carrying on a business in the supply and delivery of refined petroleum products in and around Iqaluit.

Uqsuq is located at the Parnaivik Building 924 in Iqaluit, NU 867-979-1620.

 

Pan Arctic Inuit Logistics Corporation (PAIL)

PAIL is a joint venture between Nunasi Corporation, Makivik Corporation, Inuvialuit Development Corporation, Labrador Inuit Development Corporation, Kitikmeot Corporation, Sakku Investment Corporation and Qikiqtaaluk Corporation. The intent and purpose of PAIL is to monitor the contract for the operation and maintenance of the North Warning System on behalf of the Inuit owners.

QIKIQTANI FIRST AIR LTD. (QFAL)

Qikiqtani First Air Ltd. Is a QC and First Air joint venture to provide a range of aviation services throughout the Qikiqtani region.
 

QC/SCARLET SECURITY SERVICES

QC/Scarlet Security Services is a joint venture with Scarlet Security. Its purpose is to provide security and enforcement services at major remote sites (i.e. mine sites) with highly trained and experienced security staff.

As well this company is well positioned to undertake such contracts as airport security.


 

EMCO CORPORATION WATERWORKS

EMCO Corporation Waterworks is one of Canada’s largest integrated distributor of product for construction industry. EMCO offers products in distinct categories of:
